Human Subjects Training Instructions
Print two copies of all certificates of completion, keep one for your records and submit the other to your Service Training Coordinator (STC): Coral Ana, Main VA Building, 6th floor room# 6002, email Coralyn.Ana@va.gov or fax to: 858-552-7436. For Questions call Coral Ana: 858-552-8585 x5980.
What is the required training?
• Ethical Principles of Human Subjects Protection & Good Clinical Practice (HRPP & GCP)
Who has to take the training?
•All members of the research team including but not limited to: investigators, research coordinators and research assistants involved in human studies research prior to conducting a research study.
•All members of the Research Office, the R&D Committee, and Research Compliance Officers.
•All members of VA IRB Administrative Staff and VA IRB Committees.
•Note: Secretarial support is not required to complete training in the Protection of Human Research Subjects and GCP.

•If you are a new user:
–Click on: “New Users Register Here”
–Under “Select your institution or organization” go to Veterans Affairs and choose “San Diego, CA-664”
•Once you have logged in follow the instructions for registration. The system will ask you a series of questions that will lead you to the required courses listed above.
