Human Subjects Training Instructions
Print two copies of all certificates of completion, keep one for your records and submit the other to your Service Training Coordinator (STC): Angela Hare, Main VA Building, 6th floor room# 6002, email angela.hare@va.gov or fax to: 858-552-7436. For Questions call Angela Hare: 858-552-8585 x5980.
What is the required training?
• Ethical Principles of Human Subjects Protection & Good Clinical Practice (HRPP & GCP)
Who has to take the training?
•All members of the research team including but not limited to: investigators, research coordinators and research assistants involved in human studies research prior to conducting a research study.
•All members of the Research Office, the R&D Committee, and Research Compliance Officers.
•All members of VA IRB Administrative Staff and VA IRB Committees.
•Note: Secretarial support is not required to complete training in the Protection of Human Research Subjects and GCP.
How do you take it?
•If you do not remember your username and password contact Angela Hare immediately: 858-552-8585 x5980
•If you are a new user:
–Click on: “New Users Register Here”
–Under “Select your institution or organization” go to Veterans Affairs and choose “San Diego, CA-664”
•Once you have logged in follow the instructions for registration. The system will ask you a series of questions that will lead you to the required courses listed above.
