• Animal Welfare Information Center - AWIC was established by Congress in the 1985 amendments to the Animal Welfare Act to prevent unintended duplication of animal experimentation and to provide information on employee training, methods to reduce or replace animal use, and to refine procedures to minimize pain and distress. AWIC’s redesigned Web site features a new browse structure and Google search engine making it easier to locate information on a wide variety of animal care and use topics.
