Animal Welfare Information Center - AWIC was established by Congress in the 1985 amendments to the Animal Welfare Act to prevent unintended duplication of animal experimentation and to provide information on employee training, methods to reduce or replace animal use, and to refine procedures to minimize pain and distress. AWIC’s redesigned Web site features a new browse structure and Google search engine making it easier to locate information on a wide variety of animal care and use topics.

ALTBIB: Bibliography on Alternatives to Animal Testing – NIH website is specifically designed to help you perform database searches on alternatives and links to PubMed searches on selected topics.

Altweb – Website run by the Johns Hopkins Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing (CATT). The site provides instruction for a step-by-step approach to an alternatives search, and specialized databases including a Pain Management (Anesthesia/Analgesia) Database and Humane Endpoints Database.

University of California Center for Animal Alternatives - The UCDavis Center for Animal Alternatives places special emphasis on disseminating up-to-date information concerning animal alternatives through every level of public and private education. It also seeks to provide investigators who use animals with information on the most current methods for improving all aspects of animal care during their work.
