Grants Electronic Submission

Purpose

VMRF recognizes the need to adapt its operations to facilitate electronic grants submissions. It is in the best interest of both the principal investigator and the institution to set standards on how electronic submissions of grants will be processed through the VMRF and specifically the VMRF Contracts & Grants department.

Overview:

Grant proposals that will be electronically submitted follow the same procedure for grant applications as set forth in the Grant Application Deadlines Policy. VMRF will work with the Principal Investigator to accurately complete all necessary forms and compliance requirements before the grant is electronically submitted.

Application:

VMRF recognizes that there are instances in which the electronic submission of a grant proposal cannot be submitted by the VMRF Contracts & Grants department. In these instances, the Principal Investigator must work with the Contracts & Grants staff to gather proposal materials so that VMRF approval is received before the electronic submission takes place. Proposals submitted electronically without receiving VMRF approval prior to submission risk having their proposals rejected by VMRF should award be made. VMRF will accept PI electronic submissions if the following conditions are met:

1) VMRF has reviewed and approved the proposed study budget

2) VMRF receives three (3) copies of what is to be submitted electronically, along with the signed VMRF Checklist and Conflict of Interest forms before the proposal is submitted.

3) The Principal Investigator is aware that what is submitted must be identical to the proposal submitted to VMRF prior to the final electronic submission. VMRF reserves the right to deny acceptance of funds should any administrative changes be made after VMRF approved the proposal.
