Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the Use of Human Subjects

 

Effective April 1, 1999, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) approved the revision of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Multiple Project Assurance to also include the Veterans Medical Research Foundation (VMRF) and the VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS). The Assurance defines the relationship between the institutions to DHHS and sets out the responsibilities and procedures that will be used by the institutions to protect human subjects.
